Spike

Bring the pre-historic dinosaur age back to life with Fisher-Price Imaginext Spike the Ultra Dinosaur. My 5 year old son is a big dinosaur fan and I could think of no better gift for his birthday last month. Spike the Ultra Dinosaur was the center of attraction at his birthday party!

Kids have an immediate liking for Spike because of his perky personality. His blinking eyes, lit up spikes, roars and snores are a major attraction for kids. And most of all, they jump with excitement when they see him do all the dinosaur antics.

Fisher-Price Imaginext Spike the Ultra Dinosaur is remote controlled. This green skinned little dino is 27 inches tall, has a yellow underbelly, gnarly teeth and many spikes down his back that light up when he is switched on. This Brontosaurus styled dinosaur operated with a wireless remote control which has large illustrated buttons, which makes it easy for kids to understand and use them.

Your kid can make Spike walk forward, turn left, right, stand on his hind legs, throw boulders and even make his neck rotate. You can also add sound effects to make it more fun while playing! Setting up Spike is simple. The instruction booklet offers a nice illustration. The pieces are color coded to avoid confusion. You just have to securely fix Spike’s legs and tail to his body, and he is all set for playtime! Just make sure his legs are fixed properly or else he will struggle to walk.

You would also want to fully charge the rechargeable NiMH batteries, which would take up to 4 hours so that your kids can have a fun time with Spike without any interruptions. The remote control requires 3 AA batteries which are not included in the pack.

My twins have a new game of their own with each of their buddies. They make their dinosaur clash with each other, make them climb high huddles and bang them against the furniture. But Spike does not give into all these difficulties and continued doing all his dinosaur things. Spike has undoubtedly become a new addition to our family. His big size makes him a perfect outdoor companion. Just make sure to warn your kids not to put him in water. Since he is battery operated, contact with water could create an electric shock.

Once Spike is switched on, the spikes down his neck and back light up and he starts blinking his eyes. It could be a little tricky to maneuver Spike in the beginning, but with practice, it gets a lot easier. These sound effects add more fun while playing. It’s like bringing Spike the Ultra Dinosaur to life.

It’s a fun cool toy for $129.88. Your kids will love it for sure!
