An Angel Christmas Tree

Posted by Santa Claus - November 29th, 2006

Getting An Angel Christmas Tree ornament is one of the best ways in the world to really celebrate the holiday spirit with you family and loved ones. When you put An Angel Christmas Tree decoration up on your pine, it will show in the light with a delightful image of Christmas cheer. There are all kinds of Christmas decorations out there that you can get. There are, of course, all of the strings of Christmas lights that everyone likes, as well as the outdoor Christmas decorations.

There are blow up Santas (none as good as me though) and snow men aplenty, but out of all of this stuff, the thing that shines brightest of all is An Angel Christmas Tree decoration for the holiday season.

One of the things that I like the best about a Christmas tree angel is the way that its innocence exemplifies the spirit of the holiday. Think about it if you will. The baby Jesus, the virgin Mary, the three wise men – nothing about Christmas is worldly or corrupt. It is all so nice and angelic that, whether you are secular or a real holy roller, you can not deny that the whole thing is made much better by An Angel Christmas Tree decoration. Otherwise, even if you have lights, garlands, and all of the other Christmas fixings, you still will not really have the look that the holiday needs to be just right. Even a manger scene is less important than an An Angel Christmas Tree hanging.

The only thing that says Christmas more clearly is the star on top of the tree, but besides that there is nothing else more enjoyable if I am running ahead of schedule than to stop for a quick peek at the marvelous christmas decorations, especially the angels.

Of course, you can find An Angel Christmas Tree decoration at almost any store, so there are two approaches to getting one which both seem to be as good as the other in my opinion. One of them is to just snag as many Angel Christmas ornaments as you can. This has the advantage of basking your room in angels from top to bottom, which is a big thing for a lot of people. It has the disadvantage, however, of not having the same quality as if you just get a single angel. A lot of people think that getting only An Angel Christmas Tree ornament instead of several is the way to go, because it looks so much more striking. I say that you should just choose for yourself instead. And If your really stuck for choice you can always put one on your christmas list ……..

Mini Christmas Stocking

Posted by Santa Claus - November 28th, 2006

They say that good things come in small packages. So you can make a special delivery by using a mini Christmas stocking for the presentation. There are plenty of items that go great in these miniature icons of Christmas cheer. Just to help you along here are some good ideas that are made for the mini Christmas stocking.

Of course, the first thing that comes to mind when we think of presents in small packages is the engagement ring. You can create a wonderful holiday moment that will be remembered forever if you choose to make a special presentation for the big question on Christmas day.

A great way to build anticipation while thwarting expectations is to put the ring box in a mini Christmas stocking. The mini Christmas stocking should easily fit in a bigger box that is placed in the special lady’s traditional stocking. The surprise will be great and you have managed to hide the tell-tale ring box within the mini Christmas stocking.

Other jewelry can be presented in the same way. Why not make the gift-giving experience a little fun by using a mini Christmas stocking to provide some flavor and character? You can make a special presentation for all kinds of jewelry including earrings, necklaces and bracelets with this adorable approach.

Jewelry isn’t the only thing that fits perfectly into a mini Christmas stocking. It seems as if everyone is looking for the smallest cell phone on the planet. If you decide that a tiny cell phone is a great gift then you may want to use a mini Christmas stocking to help accentuate the popular characteristics of the tiny cell phone.

Ipods are hot items this year and if you are choosing to give one as a present you may want to dress it up appropriately. Choosing a mini Christmas stocking for this present is a perfect match for the highly sought-after item. The gift will be well received and you don’t have to spend time trying to wrap the tiny present with regular wrapping paper.

Many of us like to give small presents because you can pack a lot of emotion and fun into a tiny box. However, most of us do not have the skill required to wrap those little boxes up appropriately. You can save a lot of time and effort by using a mini Christmas stocking for your special compact gifts this holiday. The great thing is that it can be used over and over again.

And the final good thing about a mini christmas stocking is that there will still be plenty of room in you big stocking for all of the other presents I will bring along.

The Beauty Of An Antique Christmas Decoration

Posted by Santa Claus - November 17th, 2006

Christmas is always a time to look forward to in any household. But what makes it all the more exciting in our household is the fact that the entire family comes together to put up the Christmas decorations. This has been a time honored tradition in our family from the past several years. In fact, I still can’t recall how or when it started, but it all probably came into being the day my grand father walked into the house with a mysterious gift box wrapped under his arm.

I was just a kid then, but naturally I was curious. So as he came into the house and proceeded to recline on his couch, we all (namely, my sister, brothers and assorted cousins) gathered around him to see what he had brought home. We were all secretly hoping that it was some candy, for grand father had a knack for sourcing the most amazing candy! But then, he was a man full of surprises and one could never be sure what he had come home with.

Grand father saw the twinkle in all our eyes and slowly (almost laboriously) opened the box to reveal – you would never guess – an antique Christmas decoration! What attraction an antique Christmas decoration could hold for a ten year old is beyond my comprehension even today, but to be honest, I was enthralled. Just seeing that antique Christmas decoration (don’t ask me how I knew that it was an antique Christmas decoration; my grand father told me!) made my little face light up with joy. Grand father then slowly proceeded to explain the story behind the antique Christmas decoration.

He told us how a humble pheasant in rural Russia had lovingly carved up a piece of walnut wood to make the shape of the antique Christmas decoration. He then imaginatively led us through the various things the pheasant must have done to create each of the unique features of the decoration till it took its beautiful shape and size. He also narrated to us how the antique Christmas decoration must have lain in some musty old attic till it was discovered by some shrewd relative or junk collector, who, having recognized its true value, must have sold it to the antique dealer from whence my grandfather bought it.

Even today, as we all gather around Christmas time to decorate the tree in our living room, we take great pride in the first of all antique Christmas decorations our grand father procured for us. Ever since we could afford it, one or the other of us has taken turns to buy some or the other antique Christmas decoration for the tree. But even now, the pride of place, the top belongs to the antique Christmas decoration – a beautiful walnut star – that grandfather bought.

Christmas Carolers Raise The Roof

Posted by Santa Claus - November 17th, 2006

For some people, Christmas carolers are a special part of Christmas, and without them, the holiday would not be the same. There is something beautiful about hearing Christmas carolers outside your home, singing in beautiful harmony as the snow falls and twilight looms. Some sing traditional carols while others choose to go with more modern songs. Sadly, this is a tradition that has somewhat died out due to safety issues, but you can still find Christmas carolers in your community if you want to hear some marvelous singing at Christmas time.

You may find that schools and other groups put on holiday themed shows that feature Christmas carolers and other musical acts. The school band and the school chorus might perform a magical program meant to inspire the magic of the holiday season. These events are sometimes free, and at other times, they are used to raise money for your school music programs. I remember these events quite clearly from when I was a child, and it became a Christmas tradition to go see the Christmas carolers and the school band perform. They gave a beautiful twist to many of the Christmas songs I knew and loved.

We also used to put candles in little jars and go around singing carols to earn a litle extra for those little christmas gifts

In same cases, you may able to hire Christmas carolers for your holiday events. You may find groups of four, much like a barbershop quartet, or you can find a full chorus of Christmas carolers to perform. You may be able to choose what songs you want them to sing, and for how long you want them to perform. They can be the main attraction, or they can be a special touch to a special holiday gathering. For large corporations, this may be a wonderful addition to the holiday bash you throw for your employees. If you have a party for your clients, this will be an excellent touch they will not soon forget.

If there are simply no Christmas carolers in your community, and you really miss the tradition, there is nothing stopping you from forming a group on your own. Put an advertisement in the local paper and you will find that there are plenty of people who want to sing with you. You can sing in your community, or you can put on performances for those who might be lonely around the holiday. Christmas carolers may be welcome at nursing homes, and hospitals, but remember to call ahead and ask permission before you show up, but i’m sure you’ll be made very welcome.

Saving The Christmas Tree Ornaments

Posted by Santa Claus - November 17th, 2006

Everyone has favorite Christmas tree ornaments. Some choose them according to what it is, such as a favorite pet or favorite item. Some choose them because they may have been given to them by someone special. Some are just appreicated for their beauty.

I have favorite Christmas tree ornaments. Mine can be found in my entire hoilday tree. My husband and I began collecting any Christmas tree ornament that has to do with animals. We have every animal you could think of hanging from our tree.

Every Christmas tree ornament that we have has its own special memory attached. Every time we go away on vacation, we seek out the year-round Christmas stores and purchase Christmas tree ornaments with an animal theme. On our honeymoon, we found a flying duck ornament.

Wherever we go, we always find a Christmas tree ornament. Oddly enough, we were at Bush Gardens in Virginia and we were able to find  Christmas tree ornaments in mid June. It is a fun activity and a new tradition as a married couple that we have continued for over 11 years.

We had a pretty bare tree for a few years. In order to fill up our tree with more Christmas tree ornaments and less tinsel, we sought out holiday decoratin sets. As time went on we found ourselves traveling less. We then would look for a Christmas tree ornament that signified important times in our lives.

We sought out a baby kitten ornament to signify the birth of out daughter. We found a family of birds in a nest to signify the purchase of our home. We currently will be keeping our eyes open for Christmas tree ornaments to signify the birth of our son this year. My husband and I were able to find a decoration that resembles each of our pets.

Our little tradition is unique in that even tough we have a motif for our tree; we have a huge variety of Christmas tree ornaments. We have over 53 of them at this point. Each one has a special meaning. Every Christmas we unwrap each piece and remember when, where and why we bought it. We enjoy telling our daughter the story behind each piece and why it is important to us.

We also look forward to telling our son as the years go on. Ultimately, we will give the children their ornaments when they move out. Until then, we will keep them with us and continue to add new Christmas tree ornaments as well as our memories.

Christmas always brings so many happy memories.

Get Decorating for Christmas

Posted by Santa Claus - November 17th, 2006

After five years in college,Our daughter recently started a job with a finance company, she had finally decided on a major and completed her degree. She and a friend moved into a two bedroom apartment. They are both just starting out which is a struggle for everyone, but they want to be independent in purchasing things for their apartment. My daughter feels that we supported her enough during her childhood and even more so getting her through the five years of college.

The girls have gone to second hand stores and discount stores to decorate their apartment. It looks nice and they will buy new pieces once they are able to afford them. My daughter asked us over for dinner early in December. She said they had been decorating for Christmas and they wanted us to see the apartment. My daughter has always loved Christmas as much as I do. She and I would spend hours decorating for Christmas when she was still living at home. My husband commented on our way over to her apartment that he hoped she did not spend a lot of money on decorating for Christmas because her car needed replacing very soon.

I asked him not to nag her about spending money. She is pleased with her salary and she is quite responsible. I reminded him that when we were her age we did not always buy the most practical things. He promised not to bring up the issue of her car.

When we arrived at their apartment you could see some of their decorations from the parking lot. They live on the second floor of a three story building. They have a deck that faces the parking lot. On the deck they had wrapped Christmas lights around the rail along with evergreen garland. They had red bows attached to the garland. Our family had always included the outside of our home in decorating for Christmas, so I was pleased to see that she was carrying on that tradition, It looked absolutely magical.

Inside the apartment the girls had bought a nice Christmas tree and had decorated it with lights and colored bulbs and tinsel. My daughter had also placed her assortment of ornaments on the tree that I had given her through the years. They also gift wrapped their apartment door. They had candles on the table and a nice center piece on the coffee table. My daughter’s first attempt at decorating for Christmas was a great success. They bought inexpensive things, but they grouped them together well and the over all look was very festive. I know she will add to her collection of decorations as the years go by.

What? No Toys For Christmas!

Posted by Santa Claus - November 17th, 2006

We are entering my favorite time of the year. I love holiday time. I enjoy decorating and baking my family’s favorite holiday recipes and also making those special gifts for everyone on my list. Now that our family is expanding to include grandchildren this is even a more magical time of the year for us.

When our own children were toddlers we did not have a great deal of money to spend on toys for Christmas. I tried to get something special for everyone, but we also needed to include practical items as gifts. This meant that stocking stuffers usually included socks and underwear instead of luxury items. We also bought other clothing items for the children. Most of the toys for Christmas that our children received were from their grandparents. This worked out well because it gave the children something to do during the holiday time that was spent at the grandparent’s houses.

Now that we are the grandparents and have more financial resources we are the ones that get to shop for and provide the toys for Christmas. I have to admit that the toys have changed greatly since our children were young. Everything is either electronic or battery operated.

This year when my husband and I went to find gifts for our children and their families we decided that we wanted to give them more than material things, we wanted to give them a means to spend family time together. Instead of buying toys for Christmas for the youngsters and clothing or other items for the adults we decided to make family gift baskets. Our three children were very close when they were growing up, but jobs, children and community activities have made it difficult for them to spend much time together as adults. Their children enjoy playing together when we get together at holiday time. We decided that it would be fun to have a full family time together as a water park.

We booked reservations for all or us and had the water park send us confirmations for each family. We also bought a board game for each family as well as a card game. We placed the reservation confirmation, the games and microwave popcorn in a big basket. We also put in a gift certificate for a chain delivery pizza place.

On Christmas the children were very excited about having the full weekend together planned for them at the end of January. We told them that we were also coming along so that we could baby sit in the evening so the three couples could go out for dinner together. This was a great idea and received very well. I do not think any one missed not getting toys for Christmas.

Just Remember, Its not just about getting toys for christmas
