Gifts For Him For Every Gift Occasion

Posted by DavePF - September 30th, 2008

It is always difficult to come up with great Bachelorette Gifts.
Frequently we just do not know if the surprise will be appropriate or not. We cannot decide if the recipient will be happy with the gift as all of our tastes vary so much. There is also the question of how much we want to spend. Do we want to spend much to show that we care or should it not matter how much the gift cost.

Gifts for him can come in many different ways. We can think about what a person actually requires or what a person actually wants. With so many options for gifts it makes this one of the hardest things to buy in the world. If you have a party and want the gift to contribute to the party it needs to be fun and tasteful unless you are very familiar with all who would attend. It would be bad to embarrass the recipient too much or the gift could leave a negative impact on the person and they would only associate it with bad memories. There are many types of Bachelorette Gifts that one could choose. For example there are jewelry options which can be pricey unless you shop around and find good deals.

There are also the gadgets options which are very popular because they always change and people are fascinated by technology and gadgets. Or it could be as simple as a music or movie disc. Sometimes memories are transferred in these that could surpass any gift that you could find in a store. Clothing has also been a great option as gifts because they also are unlimited in options and tastes change. This can be a difficult one to pick though because a lot of times people don’t know what other people will like and they don’t know if the items would fit.

Christmas Greeting Cards: Why Bother?

Posted by DavePF - September 26th, 2008

Opening up the mailbox to find Christmas greeting cards is a wonderful treat and a special reminder that your acquaintances, friends and family are thinking of you at this special time of year.

christmas greeting cards let people know that you care and have not forgotten them, especially during the most festive and important time of the year. A simple thing like a greeting card is a special kind of gift you can send, without having to spend a small fortune.

Christmas greeting cards are an effective and affordable way to strengthen and maintain ties between distant family members and friends. They are a special holiday greeting to let people know that you remember them and are thinking of them during this festive time of year.

It is easy to reveal your own personality, or the tastes of your family, through the christmas greeting cards that you choose to send out. Cards can be purchased separately, which is often done for a very special friend or family member, but most Christmas cards are bought in sets that contain anywhere from eight to twenty cards in a pack.

Some of these packs will have a variety of designs that revolve around a common theme, while other christmas greeting cards are in sets with a single design. The designs cover a huge range of different styles and themes, ranging from very traditional and spiritual to very modern and even irreverent, as well as every thing imaginable in between those two extremes of Christmas expression.

Photo Christmas greeting cards have become a very popular choice and have also become quite affordable. They usually cost about the same as a regular greeting card but these will have a picture, usually of the family or of a couple, as the main design of the card. Often these cards come in a postcard style, meaning they are printed on one side and do not fold over like standard Christmas cards. However, because of the photographic material they are printed on, it is still recommended that they be put into an envelope to mail.

Many people combine the photo Christmas greeting cards with a Christmas newsletter that recounts the main highlights of the year for the family. By tucking both of these items into an envelope, the recipient receives both a nice photo to see how the family has grown and a heartfelt letter.

There are also many styles of Christmas cards. Some have slots in them that allows you to add your own picture, either on the cover or on the inside of the card. This is another nice way to customize your greetings and to show off the family as well.

A growing trend in Christmas giving is the use of Christmas gift cards. Giving gift cards helps to assure that the recipient will be able to choose a gift that they really want. It makes it much easier for the giver too. To cater to the increased use of gift cards, there are also many Christmas greeting cards that now have a special place to tuck a gift card or even cash inside for easy gift giving.

At the holidays, many people simply find they don’t have enough time to do everything and in that case sending out electronic Christmas greeting cards might be the best way to get your season’s greetings out there and save time and money in the process.

Finding Gifts For Kids Doesn’t Have To Be Hard

Posted by DavePF - September 25th, 2008

When it comes to finding Gift Baskets for Kids, you have a lot of choices. The amount of stuff in the stores can be overwhelming, and your kids may tell you they want everything. You may also be faced with multiple relatives who are asking you what they should get for your kid for either their birthday or for Christmas. When this happens, you have to be prepared or your child may end up with repeated gifts, or a bunch of stuff that drives you crazy.

First, you should find out what your kid wants. Make up a list of the things they really seem to want, and then add the things you may think they need. When it comes to gifts for children, you and your kids will have different ideas about what makes a good gift. Narrow the list down so that there are some toys and other fun things, but also include some items like clothes, movies and the other things they may want, but don’t make a priority.

You should then decide which of the gifts for children you want to get for your kids, and then give the rest of the list to relatives. Give each relative a few different ideas so there are not repeated toys and other items. Tell them which toys you think your child will want the most, but also suggest that clothes, books, and other practical items are also a good idea. This is a great idea if you have a family like mine. They always go overboard buying for my daughter, and we could open a toy store with the amount of stuff she gets. It makes life around here very difficult around the holidays.

When you are looking for gift baskets for kids, make sure you shop early. There are many times when a toy becomes popular, and you can’t find what you are looking for if you wait until the day before Christmas. This had happened to me more than once. There is also the problem of hard to find gifts for kids. My daughter was Wiggles crazy on her third Christmas, and there was nothing else she was interested in. Wiggles toys and clothing were scarce around me, so I am glad I started shopping early. I had to get most of her Christmas that year online, but that was OK. She at least had what she wanted, and I was able to find some great deals on gift baskets for kids by shopping on online.

Practical Tips About Cartoon Baby Drawing Read Them Here

Posted by DavePF - September 24th, 2008

So you want to create a cartoon baby, do you? The process is simple. First, create a rough sketch. Next, draw in some details. Third, clean up the draft and finally color it in. Sounds simple. Well, it is. If you have any kind of talent with art you’ll be the proud parent of your very own cartoon baby in no time.

When you decide that you want to create a cartoon baby the most important thing to do is create a rough sketch. A rough sketch will allow you to get a feel for the design without taking hours to draw it. If you decide you want to change your design you just change your sketch without throwing away all those hours of work.

After you have the general design you should add the detail to your cartoon baby. It is helpful to make photocopies of your rough design so that you can try different variations to give you cartoon baby a character of its own. As you go through designs, save the old ones; they might be useful with other projects.

When the details are done clean up the draft of the cartoon baby. If you are working on paper trace your draft so that the lines are clean. If you want to digitize your cartoon baby this is a good time to do so. Once it is digitized make sure it looks exactly the way you want it to look before you move on.

Finally you can color your cartoon baby. Here again it is wise to make copies of your artwork and try different colors schemes. Try lots of different color combinations.

That’s it, now you have your own cartoon baby. How do feel to be the world newest cartoon parent? Okay, so he doesn’t do much. He just sits there. If you want to bring your cartoon baby to life you have to animate him. I will give you the basic steps to do this, but if you need more information I have a great article on how to do that in flash.

Bringing your cartoon baby to life is just a matter of dissecting him (I know that sounds gruesome, but it has to be done). What I mean is that you have to draw his body parts in many different positions. For example, if I wanted to draw his head in many positions such as: from the side, looking at me, and half-way in between each of these positions. I would do this so that when it became time to animate my cartoon baby, all I would need to do is put that the appropriate pieces together to make the baby appear to move its head.

After all of the parts are drawn in the various positions you need to make a story line for your character. If this is your first cartoon creation, make the story simple. Comic strips are excellent examples of simple story lines, because they are depicted in just a few frames and generally can be easily animated.

Better Viewing With Binoculars

Posted by DavePF - September 22nd, 2008

Let’s face the facts; it is often not feasible to see an object in the distance and then walk towards it so it will become clearer. Binoculars are the answer when you need to see something in the distance.

These small devices are used by military personnel, astronomy lovers and nature enthusiasts as a way to see things from a distance, when the need arises. Binoculars for professionals, as well as for recreational pursuits are a huge market and there is a lot of information that should be understood.

binoculars
Binoculars are made by linking two identical telescopes, mounted side by side, and aligning them to point in the same direction. In so doing, the viewer is presented with a sense of depth perception, as opposed to a monocular telescope, which provides an image with no depth.

Earlier designs relied upon a convex and concave lens pair. While effective for low magnification, higher levels of magnification were unavailable. Newer binoculars designs rely upon prisms to manipulate the image, allowing lighter, powerful and more compact binoculars to be constructed. Additionally, modern optical coatings can improve image brightness, color and contrast.

Depending on the intended use, different optical components create different optical parameters. Among those parameters are: magnification, objective diameter and field of view. Magnification defines the magnifying power.

The objective diameter is the measurement of the objective lens, usually in millimeters, determining how much light can be gathered to form an image. The field of view specifies how wide an area can be viewed at a given range, and is commonly done by using the magnification times the objective diameter. For example: 10×50 would define a 10x magnification with a 50mm objective lens. Often these parameters are listed near the eyepiece.

optics binoculars
When it comes to binocular scopes there are plenty of choices to be made. The first is your overall need. Do you need scopes binoculars with a wide field range or do you need something with higher magnification, such as for bird watching, where the typical magnification is 7x to 12x with 30-50 mm objective lenses?

You just have to find the right set for the job, and at the right price.

Binoculars also make a great christmas presents for youngsters (and parents as well

Rude T-shirts For Football Season Or Christmas

Posted by DavePF - September 21st, 2008

How many Rude T-Shirts do you own that is the question? I like writing about anything and everything and I was looking at my closet and decided to write about my Vintage T-Shirts that I own. I own a few I think I have about 5 of them but my brother actually owns way more than I do, but let me tell you the one that beats our counts all together it’s my cousin, she is a fanatic of Rude T-Shirts that say different kind of sayings and words and quotes.

There are a lot of different kind of Rude T-Shirts out there, some of the ones I know are funny ones, but I know the most interesting ones and probably most popular ones are the ones about and alcohol. Although among kids probably the most favorite ones are the super hero-ones what do you think? And of course you can’t forget that among teenagers today the most popular ones are Rude T-Shirts but of course parent’s don’t let them wear them, that is a controversy that I never understood do you think that what a person wears reflects on their personality?

I was browsing the internet and I realized something that I hadn’t realized, that you are able to make your own Rude T-Shirts. When I read this I was amazed but at the same time I was like “where have I been”?

I guess when I was in the military I was all into it that I hadn’t noticed that you can make your own Rude T-Shirts online. So yesterday I went to a couple of sites and was looking for one of the best ones that I could find and some that were cheap. I noticed that like for for Christmas you could make some nice Rude T-Shirts where you are showing your love to your significant other.

When I noticed this I felt like I was under a rock, I felt like when your mom or dad go like wow I didn’t know that? Like when you tell them about cell phones and computers you know, I bet you have felt like that before.

If you are looking for great article content and good, funny stories check Vintage T-Shirts.

Tips for Getting Through Black Friday Shopping Without Killing Anybody

Posted by DavePF - September 20th, 2008

Holiday shopping on Black Friday can be painful, but with a few tips you’ll breeze through it in no time . It may seem to some that the Holiday Season and all of the related shopping and agony are still a long way off. Well, News Flash! It really isn’t. Have you looked at your calendar recently and been left wondering where the summer went ? Another couple of months down the line here and before you know it the happy season will be upon us.

In one respect you might be accurate . The needful planning of gift lists, meals to prepare and holiday cookies to eat might not be far off, but the agony can be less stressful if you start coordinating now. Kids change everything, including Holiday plans.

The need to plan early is especially real for Mom’s and Dad’s of new babies and toddlers. You have spent months contemplating about trips to Santa, Christmas morning and sugarplum dreams. These first few Christmases spent with your baby and toddler are about as much fun as it gets. Don’t spoil it by letting the agony get in the way. Purchasing for and sharing the holidays with a child should be a riot ! It can be!

I know from shatteringly bad experiences that lack of coordinating can spoil the season. I remember as a young mother getting geared up to get my Christmas purchasing done. I contemplated each post-Thanksgiving day sale ad methodically . Up to that time I had no children and felt no need to fight the crowds in the post-Thanksgiving chaos .

I had yet to give in to the flashy ads promising untold savings in both dollars and time. What pushed me over the top and eventually kicked off a 5 am shopping spree was the ad featuring the best pedal bike for my son. It was attractive, and a full 25% off the sale price. This put the coveted present in our price range. I knew he would just love it and only one thing stood in my way: the actual purchase of the present.

With purse, cash and advertisement in hand I found myself shuffling out the door at 4:30 am on Black Friday, trying not to observe the heap of thanksgiving dishes still needing my attention. Dishes could wait, today I had a mission : get one of the kids pedal cars for my three-year old. I returned home later that day with the pedal toy and a vow that I’d never, ever go farther than my living room during the day after Thanksgiving purchasingmadness.

In recent years I have reneged on my vow to never step toe out of doors during purchasing hours the weekend following Thanksgiving. Now with a bit of careful planning I look forward to 3 am suicide missions exploring the best tricycles for my twins.

I have established a few ground rules and have a much more rigorous preparation routine than the naive shopper who once spent three hours snarling and snapping over Radio Flyer Wagons. I’ll share my secrets! I am glad to. After all I am reformed and love my yearly purchasing spree. Don’t we all want to share what we love with others? Look for articles to follow that walk you through the organizing and execution of blissful Holiday shopping on Black Friday, no matter how many kids are on your list.

And if you are not wanting to go the crowd route at all, I suggest purchasing online and skipping the crowds altogether!

Gift Baskets For Kids Are An Easy & Thoughtful Way To Send Holiday Presents

Posted by DavePF - September 19th, 2008

One of the newest home business opportunities that is being promoted is making Baby Gift Baskets. There are many people that are doing this as a business and making extra money. This is quite amazing to me because learning how to make gift baskets is so easy and the best part of giving them as gifts is that you have personally made them up.

I was disappointed in the price that the person was asking for the gift baskets. Also the quality of the items seemed to be poor. I decided that it would be much easier making Gift Baskets for Kids myself. This way I could include quality items and not have items in the basket that I did not want. I went to a local discount store to pick out items for making gift baskets. I began looking through the baskets that were available. For my neighbor I found an old fashioned picnic style basket that had the hinged lid. She does a great deal of hand sewing so this would be perfect. I put a sewing scissors, thimble, thread, needles and a pin cushion in the basket. I also found a box of her favorite chocolates. For my father- in-law I found a basket that was shaped like a fishing creel. He had always enjoyed fishing. I put several kinds of sugar free candies in his basket. He is a diabetic so he needs to watch his sugar intake. I also put in a deck of cards as well as some dice so he could play games with other patients at the facility. I was finding that I was enjoying making gift baskets. For one of my sisters I decided to use a beach bag for the gift basket. She has a cabin that she goes to several weekends a year so she could use the bag to carry personal items. I put in a beach towel, sunscreen and a new novel. For my other sister I used a wicker basket and filled it with several bath gels and body lotions.

A few weeks later I was going to put together a basket for my sister. She was scheduled for surgery and I wanted to take the gift up to the hospital. I told me co-worker that I was going to do this over lunch and if she wanted to learn how to make gift baskets she was welcomed to come along. We went to a major discount store. I picked out a gift basket on clearance. I told my co-worker that I wanted to spend around twenty dollars on the contents. I bought some note cards, some of my sister’s favorite candy, shower gel and lotion as well as the newest best seller and a puzzle book. I bought a roll of cello wrap and tissue to fill the bottom. My total came to twenty one dollars and I had everything that I knew my sister would like. My co-worker said that a similar basket from the business owner would have cost three times that amount.

By making the Gifts baskets myself I was able to customize each of them to the person and also save money. I was not paying for items that I knew the person would not use, and I was in control of the quality of the items. This saved me money as well as insuring that I had special gifts for each.

I think baskets make great gifts, and they are fun to shop for. Making gift baskets will let you be creative and allows for great cost control.

Fun Office Christmas Activities

Posted by DavePF - September 19th, 2008

Just because you’re stuck in an office all day doesn’t mean Christmas fun can’t extend to your workplace. Depending on the environment at your work, it’s definitely possible to mix holiday fun with work.

One obvious choice for some fun at the office during the holidays is to have a party. You could have several, in fact. How about a cookie exchange party? Plan to do this at lunchtime one day, and during that block of time, everyone brings several dozen cookies they have made. You have to set a particular number of cookies everyone brings. Because once everyone has an empty plate, they go around the table picking up cookies that look good to them and place them on their empty paper plate. If everyone brought 3 dozen cookies, say, then everyone gets to take home 3 dozen cookies. This is not a particularly unique idea, but one that brings a bit of fun into the workplace.

Fun Office Christmas Activities
Keeping in mind whether or not the public visits your workplace, you might choose to decorate. Why not have a Christmas tree decorating event? Everyone brings 6 ornaments and as a group activity, everyone decorates the tree. This is a good way to build team spirit and decorate your workplace at the same time.

Don’t forget to institute a “secret Santa” event at work, where you secretly buy gifts for someone and have some type of gift exchange. But what about a “Santa’s helper” activity? Someone in the group has to begin this on the sly. Essentially, this first person (the only one in the know about how the whole thing began) puts together a little gift. Ideally, it’s a basket with a few gift items in it. They might be decorative items, or baked goods or even bath items. Attach a card saying that “Santa’s helper” dropped by and brought these items. Now the person who received the “helper’s” gift must put together a little something for someone else and - again on the sly - deliver it to the next person. It continues until everyone has received a visit from “Santa’s helper”.

Christmas Activities
Nothing brings people together like a group activity designed to help others. What if your officemates came up with an activity designed to help people less fortunate at the holidays? You might adopt a local family and everyone in the office purchases items for that family. You might choose to purchase Christmas trees for needy families. If the public visits your office often, you might even begin a “sharing” tree and people can bring items to put under the tree for needy families or children. As a group activity, the office workers can then deliver these items to the needy. More on Christmas Activities Resources.

Shopping For Glasses As Part Of A Fun Halloween Costume

Posted by DavePF - September 19th, 2008

As Halloween Approaches, are you thinking of what character you would like to dress up as? No doubt it is a fun time because we can all be whatever or whomever we want for one fun filled night. After all, that is what many people consider the most fun aspect of Halloween, after the candy of course.

It is not uncommon that the costume you decide on will need a pair of eyeglasses, such as Harry Potter. And for others, such as bankers or librarians, once you have decided on a costume, adding the finishing touch of eyeglasses can turn your plain outfit into a memorable costume.

The key to purchasing glasses for the costume is to find a pair that compliments the look you are trying to pull off. The second important aspect is finding a pair that does not cost a lot, especially because you will only be wearing them one time.

An expensive option would be to go to a local optical store and request a pair of frames without lenses or lenses without correction. An optician or optometrists optical frames can range in price from $60 and up. Unless you have a limitless bank account, this is a pricey option for a one-time event.

Another, less expensive option, is looking for low power reading glasses. They can typically be purchased at a local discount store or drug store. Low power reading glasses are very cheap and are available in a wide array of styles to coordinate with your costume.

To make them more comfortable, you may consider removing the lenses. By removing the lenses you will have an empty eyeglass frame that will still fit the bill for any costume. Just keep in mind that rimless and some semi-rimless styles must have their lenses intact. The simplest kind of frame to remove lenses from are zyl reading glasses. It’s easy, simply apply pressure to the lens from the back and the lenswill pop right out. Metal frames will require a screwdriver.

For an idea consider movie or TV stars. A fun one is to dress up as the doctor from CSI or Samual L. Jackson by wearing a pair of Clic reading glasses. Clics can just dangle around your neck and make an excellent accessory to your costume.

You can easily find a couple of styles of reading eyeglasses that may fit your Halloween costume at the local book store. for a more specific selection, look online. There is a huge variety of styles available and you will certainly be able to find a pair that will go with your costume.

An even less expensive option is to go to a costume shop. The drawback of a costume shop is the selections are very limited. However, depending on your costume, this may suit your needs. Usually costume shops carry the basic styles, just be sure to get there early so they do not sell out of the style you are after.

As an added safety tip, refrain from wearing your costume glasses or any other portion of your costume on you face while driving.

Wedding Favors - The Ending Of The Wedding, But The Very Beginning Of Insurance.

Posted by DavePF - September 19th, 2008

A lot of weddings have themes and what better way to add to your wedding and thank your guests than giving them wedding favors that is themed just like the rest of your wedding. When a lot of thought is given to your special wedding favors, your guests end up loving them so much that they keep them for years as acommemoration of how much they enjoyed your wedding.

Whether they are themed or not, wedding favors are an awesome way to say “thank you” to your guests for being a special part of your very special day. Traditionally, cookies, chocolate, almonds wrapped in tulle and home baked goods were the best kind of wedding favors that a guest could receive. Today, unique wedding favors such as candles, teapots, luggage tags, Cinderella slippers are more of what we are seeing more than baked goods and tulle wrapped almonds. Wedding favors have become more sophisticated and forged a real place as part of every wedding.

So how do you go about making sure that you do what is right regarding these infamous wedding favors? While taking care of the ‘more important’ areas of your wedding, keep a alert eye out for wedding favors that may be perfect for your special day. They are everywhere; in bridal gown shops, florists and every place that you will visit that has everything to do with weddings. Try to multi-task, always keeping your eye out for the most perfect wedding favors to say a big thank you to your guests for sharing in one of the most exciting and special days of your life. Wedding favors are very significant to your guests. They should be imperative to you too.

Wedding favors typically are left until the end when there is not much of a budget left. I would not suggest doing that because that will translate onto your guest’s table. After all, unique wedding favors are a very exceptional thank you given to your guests for coming and spending their time and giving a gift to start you off in your [spin\marriage|wedding|union[/spin]. Not many people realize that, but buying wedding favors is probably one of the most important purchases that you will make for your special day.

Along with guaranteeing that you have the correct wedding favors on your special day, you do not want to forget to have insurance for you and your spouse. Everyone is apprehensive with their flowers, band, food and yes, their wedding favors and seem to forget about “life” details. Most people go on a honeymoon right following the wedding. More than any other time in your life, starting out as a newly married couple, you need insurance in many areas of your life. So when you are contemplating over wedding favors, just don’t forget that after your wedding day is passed, you need some assuredness which can come in the form of many different kinds of insurance.

After An Year Long Wait - Christmas 2008

Posted by DavePF - September 18th, 2008

The wonderful season of Christmas, that always brought joy to my soul, the season that I have been waiting all year round to come back once again one more time. The joyous season filled with life. What other festival can bring in so much joy and laughter in the world other than Christmas itself. It is because Christmas is the most important day in the history of human race. It’s the day when Jesus Christ was believed to have born on Bethlehem. The birth of the savior is the most wonderful day, every man on earth must rejoice about, since this is the birth through which Jesus Christ set the mankind free from all sins. Through his innocent blood, Jesus set us all free from sins. He died on the Cross for our sins. This shows the how much God loves us, He loves us so much that he gave the mankind, his only son…

I am on the wait for the next Christmas, The Christmas 2008 – What a Christmas it would be, I can’t wait to get in to that golden season. On Christmas season, even the air has got the aroma of goodness and love. It’s a season that makes all the world colourful and wonderful… Who won’t dream to live a life that has Christmas days all year round… I wish Christmas days to never leave…

Christmas days makes me remember the little boys that come in Santa Claus costumes and do the singing and dancing infront of our front door. The thought of the Christmas carols brings unlimited joy to my heart, when I was a little boy, those carol days were the days of unending joy… What more to say. Our home was always filled with sweets and Christmas cakes on Christmas season, those were the cakes we ordered for our friends and relatives. On Christmas season we presented Christmas Cakes to everyone, everyone. And the joy they have while receiving those cakes are really unforgettable. Christmas 2008, come soon…

Why Personalized Mommy Necklace Is So Powerful

Posted by DavePF - September 17th, 2008

One of the most popular kinds of accessories today is personalized necklace. If finding the right gift for a friend or co-worker is causing trouble and the gnashing of teeth, consider mommy jewelry. So why are personalized accessories so popular? It’s because these are gifts that are coming from the heart, and they show how much you are appreciated for your uniqueness. Contrast this with a gift card, for example, which can be picked up in the supermarket line as an afterthought. Because personalized necklace can have monogramming of quotes as well as simple initials, these gifts have a powerfully emotional effect. Although this isn’t spoken about openly, many people treat their personalized jewelry as if it has been blessed, like a good luck charm.

Personalized Necklace also projects the wearer’s personality out onto a larger stage. One example is a teenaged girl who wears personalized necklace with a saying about fighting global warming; she will met people with similar interests and the jewelry can act as a conversation piece. So, of course, it’s important for gift-givers to really do the thinking before selecting personalized necklace for someone else. But a well-chosen piece will be treasured for years, and remind your friend how much you care.

Family Christmas Gift Exchange Games

Posted by DavePF - September 17th, 2008

It used to be that families had no rules about gift buying. Everyone bought for everyone else, and gifts were exchanged when the family all got together somewhere during the Christmas season.

These days, it’s more common for people to draw a name out of a hat or get assigned a person to buy for. Or the family creates a type of “white elephant” exchange instead of having family members buy for individuals in particular. So, what many families need is a fun way to exchange the gifts, whether they be for a specific person or whether they are ‘white elephant” type gifts.

Family Christmas Gift Exchange Games
If the family members drew names, there are several fun things you can do. The gifts can be hidden and clues given as to the location of the gifts. So, if you arrive at grandma’s house with your gift for Aunt Martha, you might tuck her gift into a kitchen cabinet. Then you’d create a series of clue as to here it is. You might say, “Cinnamon lurks here” or “it’s the hub of the home, but not always the home of the hub”.

The clues can be silly or deadly serious. They can be designed so someone will know where to find their present in just minutes, or designed so that it takes a series of clues to get someone right to their gift. If the group is small or the house particularly large, and the participants have the time you can always create a hunt where more than one tip is left and one tip leads to another, which leads to another until the gift is finally found.

Family Christmas
Why should the kids have all the fun? Create some fun gift exchange ideas for adults. Whether the family is doing a name draw and exchanging regular gifts or not, you can have some good family fun with a white elephant gift exchange. How about a themed white elephant gift exchange? If the family is into fishing, you could create that as a theme. Everyone must bring a gift related to fishing (this could be anything from sporting goods items, to a singing bass that goes on the wall). It could be a hand held electronic fishing game or a board game with fishing as a theme.

In that same vein, you could create a “cooking” white elephant exchange or a camping themed gift exchange. Again, it’s more about what will please members of the family than anything. Then create some fun games for the exchange itself. Perhaps everyone draws a number and gets to pick their gifts from the pile in the middle based on their number. Perhaps you begin the game that way, but then also people to ’steal’ someone else’s gift if they choose. More about Christmas Games.

Typical Traps that Make Holiday Shopping a Stressful Experience And How To Prevent Them

Posted by DavePF - September 17th, 2008

We have all seen those happy smiling faces in the sea of shoppers who actually seem to be enjoying themselves. Those laughing tones emitted from happy mouths seem to ring loud over the stressed crush of rushing shoppers and mock at your own panicked and tormented mental state. Feeling a most scrooge-like surge of loathing you question what their secret is. To console yourself as you rush on you conclude the holiday mountain of extra work has left them touched in the head.

They couldn’t possibly have a list as long as yours filled with every ‘it’ item ranging from baby and toddler to picky teen. There is no way they spent the last three days running like a mad person from every toy store in the greater metropolitan area narrowly dodging fist fights to win the coveted cabbage patch doll or sit and stand stroller or the coup de grace, a dancing Elmo.

This is not true. These happy shoppers have learned from their mistakes and the mistakes of others to become purchasing divas. This allows for optimum enjoyment of gift shopping. Buying gifts , creating the magic of childhood that will live in your toddler’s memory for a lifetime should be fun . These shoppers have cracked the code; the holiday cues, crowds and jittery energy are all part of the game to them.

When I ventured out that very first time into the post Thanksgiving madhouse seeking a kids pedal car, pedal plane or a tricycle for my then 3-year old, I had no idea what I was doing. I had a misty idea of what I wanted: the tricycles. But I had not planned properly and the store was out of that item. This is where most of us meet our downfall: lack of preparation. Take it from me, even the most timid shopper can learn to survive and even thrive in the high-energy crowds a good sale produces.

Successful holiday shoppers have several things in common. They have a checklist. They know whom they are shopping for, what they will be purchasing, how much it costs and where to buy it. They have harnessed the power of both the internet and holiday circulars so they know they are getting a good deal on a present that will be received with squeals and squawks of pure childhood happiness. In their minds they can see their children waking and opening that attractive new baby doll and crib. You can’t help but smile and have a good time when you know the fruits of your hard work will be so fabulous.

Even with cautious planning, purchasing nirvana can be disrupted by elements beyond your control. Stock shortages, overtime at work or lack of funds affect purchasing divas just the same as any other shopper. What a true holiday shopping diva has on her side is a plan B.

When holiday shopping divas face a roadblock on their way to the plush toy of her child’s sugarplum dreams, she knows an different route to get what she needs . A shopping site online can be quick and easy for a consumer to shop. Finding one with security, products at an affordable price, and unique items can be very difficult. However, many different comparison shopping online sites are available. Three of these sights are Ebay, BlueNile.com, and redenvelope.com. Here a customer can shop at rock bottom prices for almost anything on the planet.

Ebay is a perfect shopping site for the online customers. Everything from Murano glass to signed Beatles posters are on Ebay for the right price. Several unique items that are on auction include a signed Beatles poster and a vintage Andy Garcia tie. No matter what a person is looking for, more than likely it can be found on Ebay.

Another very unique online shopping cart to visit is redenvelope.com. This company has a very unique history to how they developed their name. Find Information About Making Candles

Posted by DavePF - September 12th, 2008

Candlemaking is a great hobby. It’s fun, and fairly easy to learn. Supplies are not super-expensive, and are easily available. The best thing is that the variety you can create is infinite. There is no limit to what your imagination, and different candle making techniques, can do.

There are a variety of different supplies and ingredients you can choose from. There is your traditional candle wax, made of paraffin usually, which you can do so many things with. If you want to get away from that, consider making soy candles or gel candles, all of which have their own unique characteristics.

With colors, scents, shapes, sizes, number and kind of wicks, containers, and more, you can learn how to make any kind of candle you can dream of.

Candles make a great gift, and can be sold at excellent profit margins. That is because the perceived value of a candle far exceeds the cost of making one.

The real cost is in some initial supplies, then in ongoing replenishment to supplies. When I started, I bought about $300 worth of stuff: double boiler, multiple molds, some small tins, wicks, big blocks of three different waxes, scents, colors, some tools for holding wicks, thermometer, chemicals to make the wax do cool stuff, uh, I don’t remember what else.

With what I have, I can make probably 40 or 50 candles. Not a lot of huge ones, but some. Really, it’s so much fun creating new candles and learning new techniques.

Childrens Furniture - Smiles To The Little Ones

Posted by DavePF - September 10th, 2008

Back when I was a kid, we had almost no childrens furniture. My parents were pretty basic with their sense of decoration. They never really bought new furnishings. They had a few solid, plain chairs, and that was it for years and years. Childrens furniture was simply out of the question. They were much too practical. After all, kids outgrow kids furniture in a few years, so what is the point?

From my point of view, however, it was awful not having any childrens furniture. I had a few items of childrens bedroom furniture, but they amounted to almost nothing. Basically, almost anything in the house was too big for me. The whole world seems so large an overwhelming because there was nothing in my size. This is why resolve to get my kids their own furniture when I had them.

Childrens furniture can be kind of expensive at times

Buying my children furniture is actually something that I do with joy. I love decorating, and I love to see the happiness in my kids eyes when they get to pick out a new chair, table, or bed. Although childrens furniture can be kind of expensive at times, it is worth it. As long as you plan carefully, you don’t need to replace things more than once every couple of years. You can even buy unpainted childrens furniture if you want to save a little bit more money. After all, painting furniture is something that you can easily do. You can even make it a family bonding project. You and your kids can paint furniture together. This can be a great way to spend a Sunday with your kids and teach them the value of hard work.

A couple of times, I have actually tried to make my own childrens furniture. It was supposed to be easy, but I am not someone who is particularly good at crafts. Some people are just handy, and some people aren’t. My dad never really taught me how to build anything, and I never learned on my own either. As a result, my attempt at making my children furniture failed miserably. Still, I have managed to assemble some kits that come as individual pieces. One time, I put together a desk chair for my daughter. Another time, I built a stool for my son. Buying these kits can be fun, and it will save you a few dollars as well. It is always a good feeling to know that you have put something together with your own hands. If you can save a little bit of cash in the process, all the better!

Board games are great for family fun

Posted by DavePF - September 8th, 2008

The board game has been around for hundreds of years, and there are a seemingly endless variety of them to explore, play, and enjoy. They range from the simplistic purely fun games to infinitely complex games like chess and go. But the best part about all of these games is that they are interactive. In a world where people, and especially kids, seem drawn further and further into their own private realms, board games offer real and meaningful opportunities for interpersonal interactions that are not only socially stimulating but that are also intellectually fulfilling while also remaining fun and exciting.
